“DevOps is a term becoming more prominent in software development dialogues these days,” said Honda. “The idea continues to help project teams and IT operations efficiently and effectively build, test and release software.”

“Whether you develop software for an enterprise or a smaller startup, DevOps continues to be integrated as a cross-departmental function across business cultures of all sizes,” shared Satterfield.

According to Right Scale’s 2016 State of the Cloud survey, the DevOps adoption rate has increased from 66 percent in 2015 to 74 percent in 2016. While SMBs were the early adopters of DevOps, enterprises are rapidly embracing it. In 2016, 81 percent of enterprises adopted DevOps compared to 70 percent in SMBs.
