Outsourcing & Software Product Development: The challenges and opportunities of transformation: A VNITO Alliance and KMS Technology seminar
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam [October 3rd, 2018] – Vietnam Information Technology Outsourcing Alliance (VNITO) and KMS Technology successfully co-organized a seminar about “Outsourcing & Software Product development: The Challenges and opportunities of Transformation”. There were 50 guests who attended this seminar, including leaders and representatives from leading outsourcing companies in Vietnam.
The keynote speaker was Mr. Lam Quoc Vu – the co-founder and CEO of KMS Technology. Vu has worked in Vietnamese IT fields for over 20 years and has spent 10 years in India; additionally, he founded several pioneering outsourcing companies and products for the US and global markets. KMS Technology’s product success stories include: Spin off company, QASymphony, receiving $40 million USD as an investment from IVP in 2017, UpStar Labs (Tech startup incubator), Katalon studio and Kobiton. All of which are brands that reflect Vu’s ambition to bring ‘made in Vietnam’ software to the global market.
Throughout the talk, Vu shared his practical experience and consulted on how to solve various issues between Outsourcing and Product development models in Vietnam. He also discussed the competitive edges of Vietnam’s Outsourcing market, as well as how to utilize them to support the transformation. Furthermore, Vu touched on funding methods, market research and human resources management techniques.
Additionally, case studies of the difficulties and challenges faced while developing QASymphony (Tricentis), Katalon Studio (Automation testing) or UpStar Labs were shared for the first time; These are the three outstanding projects of KMS Technology showcasing its transformation from outsourcing to product development.
Moving on to the discussion session, the guests excitingly exchanged ideas focusing on why, when and how to transform to product development. The 50 attendees were comprised of CEOs, representatives from technology companies, representatives from the press and VNITO Alliance’ members.
From the seminar, our guests received a comprehensive view of technology trends, as well as the challenges and opportunities when transforming from outsourcing to product development for Vietnamese enterprises.
