KMS Gives Back at 48in48’s Five Years of Awesome

KMS Gives at 48in48

This past weekend KMSers joined over 500 other volunteers at 48in48’s Atlanta event. 48in48 is a nonprofit that hosts hackathon-style events all over the United States. During these events technology and marketing professionals come together to build 48 websites for 48 non-profits in 48 hours.

This event marked 48in48’s 5th year and the 2nd year that KMS has sponsored and participated in the site builds. 48in48 is one of the many ways our team gives back to the community and part of our pledge to give back 1% of our time, equity, profits, and product.

Our Non-Profit Partners

This time around, KMS had 2 teams and partnered with two non-profits, Umi Feeds and Full Radius Dance.

Umi Feeds is an Atlanta-based food rescue organization that serves homeless and disadvantaged people in Atlanta and other cities. The organization prevents food waste from events, volunteer activities, and more and gives that food and other supplies to those in need.

Full Radius Dance is an inclusive dance company for people of all physical abilities and individuals with disabilities. The body positive organization focuses on dance as an art and performs in the Greater Atlanta area, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

KMS Gives Works Together

KMS team members from development, testing, marketing, sales, and more came together to lend a hand in building these sites. On Friday we were joined by our friends at Resicap to layout site content, write copy, and build out the site framework.

Then our developers/WordPress gurus worked their magic. Throughout the weekend, we were joined by students with TAG (Technology Association of Georgia) who helped bring the sites to life. To round out the event, KMSers in Vietnam pitched in their testing services to ensure that each site built at the Atlanta event was working seamlessly.

We had a great time working with 48in48 and the non-profits that bring so much good to our Atlanta community. We can’t wait for the next event!

While we love it, we do more than just give back! Contact KMS to see how we can work together on your next development or testing project.
